In Uganda; the Government aided primary schools lack a lot of resources and hence and prooned to so many vulnerabilities to operate well. For example; schools in the rural areas in the Eastern Region of Uganda where Martha Foundation operates. Out of the 100 government primary schools in Bukedea District 78% of them lack classroom structures, desks or benches, office funituters as teachers and children/pupils have to sit down on floor and under the trees during classes.
Yes one would say it’s a nice environment with good aeration around; however when rains power it affects class time and hence inconvenience the learning hence negatively affecting performance
The Martha Agwang foundation came up with a project to support children in the rural area of Bukedea improve their learning environment by providing children with benches and office chairs and tables for the same rural schools for the teachers.
There are over 20 government aided primary schools in the rural areas of Bukedea District were/ have benefitted from this particular project of provision of Benches and office futures (100 benches per school, 3(three) office Table withdrawers and 3(three office chairs for each school)
